Cut Price Drinks Cup Collection Bin LEAFIELD Recycle - 13.9.2012

Leafield Environmental has launched a new Envirobin Economy M-T Cup Bin with six apertures for collecting cups and a central aperture through which excess liquid are poured into a removable 7.5 litre reservoir.

The tubular moulded design maximises cup collection capacity by encouraging the cups to stack inside each other up to the full height of the tube. In this way some 500 cups can be collected in a single bin.

The liquids reservoir is removed easily for emptying and cleaning and the bin tubes are simply emptied by inverting the bin over an appropriate plastic bin bag. The individual tubes are purposely designed to open out into a common space at the base of the bin in order to make cleaning and rinsing the bin an easy operation.

The lid is WRAP compliant colour coded to indicate plastic or paper cups, (red for plastic and blue for paper).

Priced at a competitive £75.00 excl. VAT, the durable rotationally moulded polyethylene construction will give many years of useful service, helping keep the area around drinks dispensing machines clean and tidy.

Envirobins at Loughborough University Halls of Residence LEAFIELD Recycle - 13.9.2012

Envirobins at Loughborough University Loughborough University is an institution educating 18,000 students with the support of 2900 staff. A population of this magnitude produces 2000 tonnes of waste a year; as a result Dominic Gregory, Residential Services Manager was tasked with improving the recycling facilities across the campus accommodation over five years.

Dominic Gregory said “the Envirobins seemed to meet every single demand in our recycling specification. We found that the Mini Envirobin best suited our needs and have now purchased a whole suite of the 55 litre bins for our halls of residence”.

“Some of the most striking features and benefits for us are the ease of use, appearance, labelling, signage, compactness and adaptable lids. As an added bonus, Leafield were also able to manufacture the bin bodies from recycled plastic which was not always a possibility with some of the competitors’ options we considered”.

Loughborough University have now installed 1015 Mini Envirobins in halls of residence for the collection of mixed recycling and general waste ready for the new academic year and is looking forward to seeing some dramatic recycling results.

AT25 Stable drinker toughs it out LEAFIELD Agricultural - 31.7.2012

“The AT25 drinker was very straight forward to fit, a good size and very robust considering my horse has a habit of sitting on stable fixtures. I have had it for over a year and it looks as good now as the day it was fitted. The screw cap on the bottom is really handy to enable me to clean and drain it properly”.

“I have now been back to Royal Cornwall show this year and bought another one. I am currently building a new stable block and I intend to install them all with this drinker. I think the quality of the drinker is very good value for money.”

“I have large horses that tend to drink a lot particularly after competition. I used to put two buckets of water in for them at night and keep my fingers crossed they didn’t run out until the morning or worse; tip them up. The days of me carrying buckets has gone; no more soggy jodphurs from overfilled buckets!”

Teresa Lang, purchased an AT25 6.8 litre stable drinker at the Royal Cornwall Show in 2011.

AT25 stable drinkers can now be purchased online at Paxtons online web shop, click here to visit the shop (Free delivery on all products!)

Street Furnishings takes on Night Owl Bollards LEAFIELD Highway - 31.7.2012

Street Furnishings of Wargrave, Berkshire have been appointed distributor for the Night Owl range of self-righting, retro reflective sign bollards from Leafield Environmental.

The original, non-illuminated version of the Night Owl has forged a presence in the market over the past three years and the range has recently been extended with the introduction of a new Illuminated Night Owl that is base lit by LED and is claimed to cost less than £4.00 per annum to power it.

“A unique feature of the Night Owl bollards, which is of great benefit, is that they both combine a flexible polymer for bounce-back performance and a rigid sign body that prevents graphics and conspicuity panels delaminating, cracking and crazing,” said Tony Barnes, Sales Director of Street Furnishings. “The inclusion of Night Owl to our offering fits with our commitment to provide the complete supply service to our customers.”

Both Night Owl versions are DfT approved (and tested at MIRA) to BS8442:2006 for Retroreflective Self-righting Bollards and to BS12767 for passive safety of non-harmful structures.
